theres this peigon in my apt. complex that is hurt, its wing is broken, it cant fly & can barely move , its been standing in the same area for over a week, i know its just a peigon not even a pet, but i dont want it to just be in pain until it dies cos it wont die until something bigger kills it most likely, so...yea idk if animal shelters would help though cos they usually help pets, like dogs & cats, does n e one know of any shelters that will care for it? im in phx az.....

Many people do keep pigeons as pets, they're beautiful animals.

I've got a lot of links to wildlife carers from a lot of countries on my site, at
http://au.geocities.com/leaswebsite/links under "Wildlife Assistance" - just click on them all, click on your country and state, have a browse, 'phone them and ask their advice.

These sites also explain all about what to do for orphan and injured birds -
http://www.crowsystems.com/rehab/babybird.html - this is an excellent article - be sure to read down the entire page for info on how to care.

There are rescues that will take in a pigeon. I have taken some in myself, with great success.
Try this site:

They might be able to help.

You could also try to get ahold of the American Union Homing/Racing Pigeon Association.
They also may be able to help.

Good luck.

Any local shelter should take care of it...some people adopt them as pets.

I would try and give it to the zoo. They will take it.The animal shelter might put it to sleep.
