She is lacking training and thinks she is in charge. Get her into a class before she hurts someone. Go to a training club where they have experience with aggression and NOT a 'furbaby' class like they have at Petsmart.

Your dog has a dominance problem, she has been allowed to continue this behavior without proper training. When she acts aggressive quickly distract her by saying her name in a deep voice or tapping her backside with your foot or hand to break her concentration then keep her looking at you instead of the object of her anger. At some point you need to find a trainer who knows the technique to break dominance. It is not a good thing for a dog to dominate humans, someone could get seriously hurt and you could be held responsible. :(

Is your dog aggressive towards you? If not, your dog is "protecting you", its being very territorial of YOU, it wants to protect you and get everyone else away.... If it is being aggressive towards you aswell, I would seek professional help in any case.
Your dog may even have a medical problem that is causing it pain, which in return causes aggression... Has she always been like this? just be careful, this could cause a serious problem for you in the future if you dont try and get it sorted out now...Good Luck.. :)

Dogs don't communicate like humans who knows. Keep it leashed.

You probally let her get away with it and comfort her by telling her it's ok and petting her. Which is encouraging the action.
