Hi. HOw do you measure and aquarium... I mean, in gallons? I'm soooo confused. I want to keep a ball python. So, can you help me?

Measuring in gallons is standard. However, for a ball python, floor space is the main concern. You's be much better off with a short long aquarium than a tall skinny one. In general ball pythons can be housed comfortably in a 20 gallon "long" aquarium (there's also a 20 high), though anything larger would probably be appreciated. I think the dimensions of a 20 long are approximately 36L x 12W x 12H.

I think you can measure the length width and height and multiply together to get your volume. If you measure it in centimters, then you will get your answer in cubic centimeters, or cc's. Then, convert your cc's into gallons: There are roughly 3780 cc's in a gallon. So if you divide your total volume in cc's by 3780, you should get gallons. (I think! :) It's been a long time since I had an aquarium!)

use a measuring pitcher, and pour in the amount of water you want. Mark it with a marker or something, and keep that as a reference. it sounds good, but a 2nd opinion might help...

gallons is correct,

Ie

60 gallons,
20 gallons
etc.

I would look more for the exact size by sight, rather than by gallons, depending on the size of your snake.
