Is he neutered. If not, that could be part of your problem. He's marking. If he's not neutered, get him neutered. It may be too late to get him to stop hiking and marking. It's a dominance thing, especially if you have another pet in your household. But you can control if he does it in the house or not,...outside, everything is "fair game" so to speak. You practically have to go through potty training all over again. Belly bands can work, but some dogs, especially small dogs dont tolerate them too well if they are older (out of the puppy training age).

Is he the only pet you have? Being a male he is marking his territory.
If you are around to catch him in the act, gently scold him and take him outside. Example: NO! Then use a good cleaner to remove scent and repeat.
If you are not home to supervise him, confine him to a smaller space. Letting him run all around the house is not a good idea because he will mark more things.
Make sure that you walk him daily to relieve some anxiety as well. I have two yorkies as well, male and female. My male is younger (both fixed) and he does the same; however, if I walk him, play with him (spend time with him) his behavior is much better. When I get too busy is when I notice he starts his little habit again.
When you catch them and tell them No, or anything else you want to say...they relate their behavior to a bad response from their loving master.

It will certianly help, un-neutered males "mark" (leg lift) to mark their territories more than neutered males do. The marking inside is something you need to stop fast, you have to get the dog outside a lot so he doesn't need to piddle, you also need to completely neutralize (not just clean) with a pet urine neutralizer any area where he has already marked, or he will go back there. You can also put a belly band on your dog, it velcros around his middle so he can't pee on anything but the pad in the belly band, that will stop him from marking inside. Get him neutered, get him trained, neutralize all areas he has used, and get a belly band. I've used the belly bands on males that mark, they usually stop fast because they don't like to wet themselves.

He is marking his territory. Most male dogs do this. If you have another dog (male or female) in the house it makes it worse. The best thing that you can do is get him neutered. It won't stop it all the way, but it will cut it back. The best way to stop a male dog from marking in the house is to get rid of the male and get a female. lol j/k Good luck.

Yorkies are famous for that. I personally can't stand the little rats but... Theres a couple of things to do, 1. get rid of the dog.......(sorry, kidding ,really) you have to catch them in the act yell really loud and put it outside, when they do go outside praise them, make sure they go out ten minutes after they eat and several times in between meals, then theres the crate method , keep them in a crate big enough for them to turn around in over night, after eating. Good Luck

Your dog is marking his territory. I have male dogs also. I suggest getting him altered if you haven't already done so. If that doesn't work, get a belly band. It should stop him from doing that. Good luck!!!

male dogs always want to mark their terrotory... but spank them and put them outside...if that doesn't work get some of that spray stuff you spray in their mouth....you can get it at a pet store. I did that with my dog and he stopped, it also takes training(time and effort).
