Actually dogs do eat grass, they do it whenever they need to vomit.

I've actually seen dogs do this several times, being a long time dog owner. It puzzled me to no end until one day I saw a show about dogs on the discovery channel and they did confirm this. I think it was the same show where a jaguar took a liking to a certain plant because of its hallucinogenic effect.

No Joke.

For the same reason that you cannot digest cellophane, really. Plant cells (unlike animal cells) are surrounded by a thick, rigid cell wall which makes breakdown very, very difficult in our digestive system to break down and absorb (the same with dogs). Grass is an example. Dogs and cats often eat grass when they have a sick stomach or have difficulty throwing up or need roughage in their system. If you see your dog or cat doing this, put two teaspoons of Wheat Germ into their food and mix it in (for a medium to large dog, one teaspoon for a smaller dog or cat); it also causes them to stop chewing on furniture, sneakers or shoes, rugs, etc., in a matter of a few days.

Dogs can eat grass, as like cats they eat a certain type of grass when they have a stomach ache. This in turn makes the animal vomit or even feel better.

I hope this had answered your question.

If they eat grass too, then it will not be enough for the cow , horse, sheep etc. Ha-ha.

But, btw, dogs do eat a small amount of grass especially when they are feeling discomfort in stomach.

My dog always pick up the hay that drop from my Chin's cage in regardless whether he is ok or not. So, I sometimes give him one too.
