It all depends on your dogs life style, diet, health, fitness, and even moral. My last lab was a working dog, he was fed the best was walked 3 times a day and hunted on a weekend, he loved it.
If i left him behind when i went shooting he was one unhappy dog.Any way back to your question he lived till he was 17 and worked till he could no longer manage it at 15 1/2

My husband and I have a lab named Black Jack and he is almost 14. So I would say it all depends on how well the dog is taken care of.

10 years is an average age for a lab usually large dogs life expectancy is a little less than average size dogs, but if your dog lives stress free and healthily who knows he could beat the odds.
