I have heard things about people using shock collars and it makes their dogs aggressive and even sometimes toward the owner under certain circumstances. Is this true and under what circumstances does this occur? Has anyone used it and have gotten good results? Also, if you do use one do you have to use it forever?
I would appreciate serious responses only, thanks.

My kids friend have asked if they can have their fish and I didn't care, but our tank isn't set up yet and when I checked, our filtering system doesn't have a filter in it. I know this is a stupid question, (I am sorry about this to!) but can I use a cut to fit air conditioning filter in it until I can buy the correct thing? We have NO place in our town that sells fish aquarium supplies so I have to wait to go out of town to get some. Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

We recently came across a stray beagle. Upon bringing her to the vets last week we have determined that she is about 4 or 5 yrs old.
She is such a sweet dog and we love her soo much! The only problem is that she has been peeing in the house! Unfortunatley we don't usually catch her "in the act". But it is obvious it is her, and not our other dog. (Our other dog is a great dane and she leaves lakes, not puddles!)
How do we correct this?? I clean and spray the soiled carpet spots with natures miracle and all, but the carpet is the least of my worries. She dosen't "ask" to go out like our dane, how do we train her to do this?? Our dane literally yells and jumps when it is time to go out. I let the beagle out as much as possible, usually once every hour and a half. The vet didn't seem to think there were any problems with how much she goes pee.
So, we would appreciate any tips people can give us on how to train an old dog new tricks! Thanks!

In the late evening, he is usually up playing with my dog and with me and generally being active. Tonight, he's been sleeping and ignoring all attempts to get him to play- he won't even get up for his favorite treats! Should I be worried?

My cat purrs and sucks on my shirt when he is happy and cuddling, does anyone elses cat do this??? Is this normal behavior? Hes going to be 9 yrs old and has been doing it since he was a kitten. Does it mean that he was taken away from his mom too soon?

I got a puppy about a month ago and I already had a year old cat. When we first brought the puppy home she and the cat got along really well and the cat loved on the puppy and even cleaned her face on occasion. Now, a month later, the puppy keeps pouncing the cat and tugging on her ears and biting her face, chewing her tail, and chasing her around. Is this just the puppy's way of playing and that cat's is tamer or is the puppy really trying to hurt the cat? If so, what can I do to help them get along better?

My one year old Lab, Beagle, Yorkie mix puppy chewed the stuffing out of my loveseat. What would cause her to do this? She has chew toys and plenty to eat. She also chewed the remote for my television/satellite. Any suggestions on how to get her to stop or why she is doing this?
