Stick with your ferret food for daily nutrition. Do not feed raw fruits or vegetables. Ferrets ARE carnivores. Matter of fact, uncooked vegetables can form blockages in their intestines that will have to be removed surgically or the ferret will die.
Fruits have no nutritional value, however, some ferrets really love a piece now and then, so you can give them a tiny piece as a special treat or reward. I give mine half or a fourth of a raisin for performing a trick(they roll over, stand up, dive for treats and jump through hoops). Ferrets lack a part of the intestines called the cecum and therefore cannot digest fiber very well. If you must, you can give them ONE cheerioh once in a while.
I also give mine a bit of canned kitten food for a treat or a jar of Gerber or Del Monte baby food, chicken or turkey with gravy flavor(I think that's the stage 2 foods).
Some people give frozen sugar free jello or sugar free popcicles in small quantities, but I don't like the idea of them getting artificial sweetners.
Just keep in mind that the majority of their food intake HAS to be low in carbohydrates (WHO WOULD FEED A FERRET DOUGHNUTS???) and high in protein and fat.
If you want to go all fresh, there is a diet that some people are following, ferret and dog owners alike. It's called B.A.R.F.(no I'm not making this up). It stands for biologically adequate raw foods.
It's very time consuming and labor intensive and not easy to do.
I'll post a link for you, if you want to check it out, it's about one persons experience with this way of feeding. You can also Google it and find lots more.

Good luck to you and your ferts.
PS: eating meat will not make ferrets mean or turn on you. Where do people get this info at??

All sweets should be limited! You can induce insulinoma with too many sweets. This includes fruits. I am currently trying to switch my ferrets to eating a fresh (previously flash frozen) mouse as a treat. The extra protein and added nutrients in the organs is really good for them. They do not get vicious if you give them meat. If you teach them to eat your finger then maybe you might have an issue, but as it stands I dont feed mine fingers, so I dont have an issue. I even have a couple rehab vampires that eat meat too. If you dont already own it, I really recommend the book FERRETS FOR DUMMIES. I thought it would be goofy, but it seriously is the best ferret book on the market. Also here is a link to the American Ferret Association:

Do not feed your ferret fruits or vegetables. They are obligate carnivores, which means they must have a meat diet. They cannot handle fiber and will get diarrhea if fed these foods. Stick to a high protein ferret food and treats and supplements that are made for ferrets and you'll have a whole lot less health problems.

Ferrets need more of a protein diet than fruits and veggies. Eggs-cooked, ground turkey-cooked, chicken-cooked. When I got my ferrets, I bought this book called Ferrets for Dummies. Kinda pricey, but very very informative good book.

fruits, strawberries, bananas, about anything. Be careful with fresh meat though they can get real mean over meat, I heard the can turn, but never had one do it I did limit the meat to once a week and only a very small amount.

My ferrets like anything on our plates. They like donuts better than any other food though. I give them carrots, green veggies, and fruit though.
