I agree fully, its a deep loss for conservation, animals n humans alike. I dunno y ppl feel the need to be colossal jerks n i wish they'd find new past times for their pea brains. Regardless of what u thought of the guy, keep in mind the fact that he has a LIVING FAMILY including young kids!

steve stood up for what he believed in. He loved his family, wildlife, and his dogs. He was one of the greatest fathers to his children that I have evr seen. He was an all around wonderful man that should be remembered for being the wildlife warrior that he was. Also guys, please go to www.aspca.com and sign some of the petitions on there to stop alot of animal abuse that is going on in our back yards. Examples like horse slaughter, dog fights, and canadian seal hunting. Steve would want us to come together at a time like this and make sure these animals are not being abused. So, what does evryone think that answered this question tonight? Will you guys check it out, along with www.hsus.org With just the few of us we can make a difference. Let's do it for Steve,Terri,Bindi, and baby Bob.

People didn't like him because he was holding his kid, and playing around with the crocodile, or aligator. I give him credit that he knew what he was doing, and he was more aware of the risks involved then a regular person who was judging him from the couch. He wasn't worse than a cliff climber who takes his 9 year old to climb small cliffs (with protective harnesses, of course.)
That being said, I didn't really like his show because of lack of educational value. It was very sensational, and he tried to act as a very brave person(which he really was, but flaunting it makes me loose a bit of respect for him.) I'm sure his death has nothing to do with the way he lived, other than the fact that he worked with animals. I truely doubt that he was consciously provoking the sting-ray. As I've heard sting-ray attacks are truelly rare, and for them to reach the heart muscle is unheard off at least until Irvin. RIP

Rest In Peace, a great conservationist and father, Steve Irwin. For years we watched him on television and marveled at his dedication and passion for conserving animals. Not just the cute ad cuddly ones, but the dangerous and deadly as well. For years we have heard him say "Crikey..What a beaut!" as h evades another croc. It just drives home a profound life lesson that even the most constant and invincible things in life, ........aren't.
RIP, a great man.

You are so right I agree the people who take the mick are just sad individuals who probably don't know anything about the man or his family and what hard work he's done teaching people about animals and helping endangered species.I hope his family continue to keep his good work up(which I'm sure they will.)

to make fun of someone who touched the lives of so many--especially someone who has just passed--is blatantly disrespectful I agree with you fully, and thank you for bringing attention to this. I was thinking about that earlier today when I found out that over 50,000 are expected to turn up at his memorial service. He was a great guy who was entertaining and kind. People need to stop making a joke of his life, and his tragic death.

People tease him because stories went around saying that he was riding the sting ray at time which is untrue. He was swimming over the sting ray when it suddenly became startled and attacked Irwin. Also they like to pick on his accent and the clothes he wears.

Because people are idiots, they think it is dumb that he got killed by a sting ray, and are like: "How stupid, he should've gotten eaten by a crocodile or something cool." to that i reply, "Yes, bad call on his part, i mean, why didn't he just plan a cool death or something" i mean COMEON!! it wasn't his idea! .... i'maspaz..
i cried when i found out he died, and i get sad whenever i hear his name or see his picture... i remember watching him when i was younger. I really wish i could've met him, he was awsome......i still have a hard time thinking that he is gone.... it's weird.....Anyone who doesn't miss him is a heartless fiend, and i don't mean that in the best possible way....

Maybe they are jealous because of his bravery, and for all the goos he did. he has made so many contributions to wildlife, conservation, and educating people about creatures. It was sad, the way he went, but I am sure he would have not wanted any different.
