My dog is about 4 to 5 weeks along I think, and I am not sure if there is anything that I need to do? I guess I am concerned because we have another dog that she is fenced in with that is the alpha female do I need to separate them? and when she starts to labor the puppies what do I need to do?

I have plan to raise a bull mastiff puppy, will anyone tell me would it be a good guard or watch dog for my home with several children?
is there also anything i should pay special attention to this breed? e.g.its temperament, fur or disease etc, just to name a few. Thank you in advance : )

ive had him for about 4months now and he is to fast to hold and sometimes bites me so hard i bleed for ages i need help as i want to have a hamster to hold and play with and my nephew would like to do the same with him but i just dont trust the hamster please help.

I have a 2 year old SBT very fit and active i take him for walks daily without any problems, I took him out as usual last week and half an hour into our walk , he lay down , and he started to wheeze , when i checked his throat and mouth his tongue was Blue , and he began coughing , I got him home and threw Cold soaked towels over him, he eventually calmed down, i've had him out since without any problems, Can anyone pls Tell me what could of happened?

My little girls want a dachshund very badly. I have heard they can have chronic back problems that are quite costly. I would love to give them a pet, but I could not afford the rediculous vet bills.

Can anyone suggest a small breed of dog that is typically healthy and happy living in the house most of the time being coddled by people?

after asking questions about how to train my 11 week old pup i have now been told to NOT rub his nose in his mess, i never rubbed his face in it but did take him up to the mess and show him what he's done and shout at him and he would cower and cry, now i need to change my method to ignoring if he has an accident, ive only reprimanded him about 7 times in total.... will this effect his training as in hindsight he does seem to have got worse since the punishing???!

My 8mth old puppy has started to pull out his beding from the laduray and spreaded it out around our hallway, and then when i put it back in his room, he pulls it out again, its so annoying, is there a reason why hes doing this? i know its not out of bordoem cuz he has lots of toys and i always play with him.

im house training my puppy, he has access to a papered hallway all the time, and goes there 80% of the time, then randomly he goes on the carpet or the sofa! he immediatly knows hes done something wrong and cowers and cries.. he gets praised whenever he goes on paper so why does he go on the carpet? my apartment is tiny so its not cos he cant make it, and sometimes he does it right by the door to the hallway!!

We have just moved to a new house have a porched now and 4 step stair to get into the house. When he goes out to go potty, he gets tangled below the steps, around the pole, he'll get tangled under the steps then after the pole and so forth... What else can I use so this doesn't happen?

I am going away for 9 days and am leaving my cat at home with my husband's mother to take care of. The problem is that he has long hair and needs brushed, and I am the only one he will let do it. When my husband's mother tries he looks at her and hisses. He won't even let her or anyone else pick him up. Why is he being like this towards other poeple (and sometimes bitiing as well)?? What can we do in the next week to make him like others and not be so attached to me? he is 3 years old.

I just noticed that my cats got fleas. What flea medicine is the best? In the pet store they suggested advanced once a month, but it's not cheap, so I wanna make sure it works! Did anyone try it? Or is there a better one? I don't mind spending a lot of money on it, as long as it works!

My Wire haired Jack Russell seems to constantly be licking and cleaning himself, to the point of obsession. Mainly around his tail area. I constantly check for fleas/ticks and he is clear. I treat him for them maticulously. He makes his skin sore by constant licking and cleaning. Is this a trait of a Jack Russell? Does anyone else have the same problem? I have been putting Aloe Vera Gel on the sore areas to help soothe the pink skin, but he just licks it off. Any reccomendations?
