Scotty cramps is an inherited neurologic/neuromuscular disorder seen specifically in Scottish terriers ...The symptoms usually develop before a dog is a year old. Sometimes, they can be controlled with Valium. Most Scotties live normal lifespans with this rare condition. I'm not sure how common this condition is, but I've only seen it once in a client's dog in 30 years.
I am sure there are Scotty breeders who can give you more information on Scotty Cramps.
If you are indicating that your dog has also been diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy, seizures can be controlled with phenobarbital.
The symptoms of Scotty Cramps are:
Spreading of the front limbs during heavy exercise or excitement
Arching of the spine
Stiffening or overflexion or bending of the hind limbs
Frequent falling
Changes in respiration
Contracted facial muscles.
Episodes may last up to 30 minutes

I dont know about Scottie Cramps, but I have a Staffie with epilepsy, he was diagnosed at about a year old through lots of blood tests from the vets.. He is nearly ten now and has been on meds all his life, every day, epiphen and pottasium bromide, he has to have blood tests every 6 months, he lives a normal life and he's happy enuff, take your dog to the vets and get him checked out....... very important!!!!!!!!

I have a Shih Tzu and when he was about 2yrs he started to have seizures to I took him to the vets he is now on meds (Epiphen) every day and evening broken in half one tablet total.
He’s now coming up to his 7th birthday in October.
It's not nice to see them when they have a fit but i just stroke Sully and tell him he's ok and that he is a good boy just reassurance to him.
