I know a dog who is badly spoiled yet also neglected in some ways. Because this dog was never trained in obedience she sits on her owners chest, pisses on the floor, is fat & never passes up an opertunity to dash out the door solo. Her owner Has ceberal Palsy & cannot physicaly or emotionally be firm with her & thus crates her up whenever she leaves the house. She refuses to walk her if it's even spinkling out. Even though her wheelchair has a ubrella fixed onto it. She expects that of course neighbors or friends will do it for her but she doesn't ask she orders. Then those of us who will do it for the dogs sake not hers & tend to resent her for her tone & attitude. This dog has become an unruly vicious yapper & Their house stink of dog piss so badly that it's nausiating to go near. She sees nothing wrong with all this. Is driving the rest of us nuts.
It would've been better for both of them if when this dog were young they'd taken an obedience & care class together so she could've learned a mutual respect with this dog. Then good voice commands and a firm but kind tone to get her to behaive.
BTW Hey if you can afford to pamper your pooch with toys please do have at it. I buy my cats toys would love to buy them fancy dishes and climbing structures. Though I doubt my kitties care what their bowl looks like as long as they're full of food and water & prefer bottle caps & my dirty socks to catnip toys.

My wife has spoiled our dog, but our dog is smart enough to know when she can and can not get her way. When my wife is away at work, it's my rules and that's it! Our dog doesn't get all the treats, she doesn't get to go in and out a dozen times (it's either you go out and stay out for a while or your in and you stay in for a while, the only exception is to the weather), and I'll feed her according to my schedule not her's. But, when my wife is home it's the other way around, the dog is in charge and my wife is always getting up to either let the dog out or bring her in, because when the dog comes in she get's a snack (usually a raw carrot), when my wife leaves in the morning she gives the dog a treat (a bisquit), she gets to lick my wife's plate after she's done eating, and when 6PM comes around the dog comes and tells my wife it's time to feed her and she will not leave my wife alone until she gets fed.
Our dog does not try to pull any of that with me, because she knows who is in charge and it ain't her. I tell you though, she does like to go for a ride in the car with me. All I have to do is ask her if she wants to go for a ride in the car and she gets all excited, and when I let her out she goes straight to the back of my car (she knows the difference between my car and my wife's), and where she's suppose to ride too.
I use to drive a 1995 Saturn station wagon that my wife now drives and I bought a 2005 Saturn Vue for myself, because I'm disabled and it's easier for me to get in and out of it. One of the things I had them do was put in a Pet Net, because I didn't want our dog riding in the back seat where she would bark right in my ear when she saw something to bark at. Plus, she's safer back there if we ever get into an accident because I don't have to worry about her flying through the windshield.
She's a fairly big sized dog. A Lab/Shephard mix and weighs 65 lbs. We've had her 13 years now, as long as we've had our house.

My dog's the perfect example. He used to do every trick in the book. When he would "roll over", he would start spinning around on the ground. Now, he just runs around in circles, sighing at me(like it's beneath him). He also will whine if you are sitting on the couch in his spot.

I'll send you a picture of mine :) Dogs should be spoiled, if you aren't going to love them and pamper them, people shouldn't get one :) They love unconditionally.
