If you want to take a holistic approach fleas do not like strong smells if you bath the pup in baby bath add a little vinegar or tea tree oil to the rinsing water.

Probably the best one to use on young puppies is Frontline Spray which you can get from your vet. When they are a bit older move onto Frontine drops which should be repeated every 6-8 weeks. I'd also get special spray for your house and spray beds, carpets, curtains, sofas etc as if you pup does have fleas then they are more than likely in all your soft furnishings and will just re-infect your pup over and over again,

Frontline is the best flea treatment on the market. It is suitable for puppies as my dog had it when he was 12 weeks old. I have just come back from the vets with my dog who has just had his yearly check-up and the vet was praising frontline up as "a great flea treatment."

hi.. either frontline, or advantage, supermarkets, are not licensed to sell anything good enough to actually treat fleas, so get from a vet.
once youve treated the animal, you will have to treat your home, or, in a matter of months the fleas will be back
Something like staykill would do that, allways read the instructions...
You wil have to treat your doggy every 3 - 4 months, to keep it protected from fleas.. If you dont, its not only the dog who will suffer...

I got my puppy at 8 weeks. All OTC flee products say 12 weeks or older. So I called my vet. He told me to use Frontline Top Spot. It's around $30 something for 3 monthly treatments.

get an empty soap bottle fill it up halfway with water then some palmolive dish soap and hydrogen peroxide. use this instead of flea shampoo as the commercial flea shampoo damages the dogs skin and this does not when you use this the fleas will come right off as i do this to my dog all the time

Baby shampoo in a small tub -- and a good thorough flea comb. He will hate the shampooing and whimper, poor baby, but he will love the combing. Right now chemical treatments could bother him. Good luck and give him a smooch.
