Can anyone with bloodhounds tell me some things about them, particularly if they have a musky odor like other dogs in the hound group? We are thinking about buying a pair and would like to know some opinions on the breed.

a skunk was in my yard late this evening and when i let my dog out to go to the bathroom he chased the skunk and barked at him for a long time but the skunk didn't run off it went under the porch thank god it didn't spray my dog.how can i keep them away?

When we used to call her she used to know exactly where we were and now it's a bit of a struggle to find where we are and sometimes she goes to a different location. She starts to whimper when she's looking around for us too.

My dog is very constipated , she is a lhasa apso and is there something too give her? The vet gave me some high fiber food and a enema, but I need somethig else that will work faster.

I had to go drop off a pair of lost dogs at the pound the other day (since I already have more dogs at home than teh county allows). I noticed how a lot of people were dropping off their old pets at the pound. It was heart breaking. I assumed it must be due to the financial hardships that would make one part from their family member.

Mom mom was out today and met a woman who has a TON of dogs and she was giving away a cat (or adolescent kitten ... I can't tell which) that she says wandered into her yard. The cat looks like it hasn't eaten in weeks. It's a beautiful Siamese. I want to keep it (not sure if its a him or a her), but I don't know if it'll live. I'm out in the middle of nowhere and can't get to a vet until Monday. When mom brought it home, the cat was somewhat listless, but when I opened a can of tuna (which was all I had that I know a cat would like) it perked up a little and ate some of it. I noticed its nose is a little runny (clear liquid) and it seems to have a cough that sounds a little like its trying to cough up a fur ball or throw up or something. It does more when it tries to eat. Its stomach is also pretty round but the rest of it is SO thin...its spine and leg bones are very pronounced. What do I do? I don't want it to die, but I don't know what to do. I'd appreciate any advice.

Hi!
My dogs have never had fleas and now they do, so I don't know what to do! I have tried frontline and it didn't work AT ALL. I also tried flea collers. The only thing that has worked is flea shampoo and I hate useing that stuff because I know it mustburn there skin.
I will use the shampoo and then 1 day later my dog is already itching! They are in the house too.
Please Help! My dog has been keeping me up all night scratching non stop! Everything I have tried but the shampoo has failed.
Only serious answers please!

iam pet sitting my best friends snauzer, we were walking around my gravel drive way last night, i was talking on my cordless phone. he must have stopped in front of me!! i fell hit the gravel,
swollen cheek, knee, arm tore up!!! the phone got thrown but it was ok once i put it back together lol.
poor doggy just sat looking at me.
anybody else had freak dog accidents??
id been mean to this woman at work who drives me insane, i thought maybe it was karma getting me back!!! lol.
ouch my cheek hurts....

I have one betta male in a five gallon. I live in LA.and the weather is a little warm. I have a 66 gallon with 3 fancy gold fish and the water is always at 76 degrees F without heating. Will my betta be okay without a heater? Since the tank is plastic not glass (Since I live in an earthquake happy city) will a heater melt the plastic?

All of the filters I have seen are like 20 gallons and up. Will a filter create too much of a current for a betta? I have a pump and an air stone already, is this enough? I have six aqautic plants too will that help?

I know of a 5 year old blue/gold macaw. In S. Central PA. for $600. (free parrot and cage, just recouping the avian vet tests and sexing the bird).
Knowledgable prospective owners only please.
My neighbor is who is offering the bird.
I will relay the interested persons information.
They want/need to find a home before Autumn season.
