My mare got rattlesnake bit. Noticed that she had a fever followed by chilling. Her leg is swollen from the hoof to her flanks. We called the vet, he said to give Banamine and Penicillin and call him if she was to have further complications. We put a charcoal wrap on the bite location, she seems to be doing fine other than uncomfortable. Will the venom affect the unborn foal? The vet says the foal should be fine, but I am looking for something more specefic than should be. Thank you for your time, I have been trying to research this as well.

I've lost a dog before and was devestated about it. So I'm sure if this dog belongs to someone they are going through the same thing. We live kinda back in the country, so this dog followed him a long ways back to our house. I'm just not really sure what we should do. I've never been in this situaiton and I'm kinda stressing over it.

I have a foster dog that is pregnant. I got her Wednesday and she appeared very alert, happy, healthy, wanting to play. But she is obviously VERY pregnant. I expected her to deliver the pups within 10 days (going on her size of pregnancy and how swollen the vulva is).

By Thursday afternoon she started getting very restless. Panting VERY heavy. Every now and again you'd hear her give a little whimper. Then she acted like she almost held her breath for a split second, then the panting got heavier. By that evening, you could see the stringy discharge from the vulva and her panting increased, apetite slightly decreased. I knew she was in labor at this point.

Last night was a long night. She was VERY uncomfortable; panting heavy, caughing/vomitting, drinking but not eating. SURE signs those pups were on the way soon.

So here we are Saturday night and nothing. She's eating normal, not panting at all, no whining. But still VERY pregnant.

What's going on?

Could this be part of her female parts? My vet kept calling her a he and I asked if she was a girl and he said oh yeah she is. It looks sorta like balls back there.. I have had one other female cat that had a similar thing. What is that??

My cat had kittens yesturday and I missed the birth. When I checked on her everything seemed fine and the babies were all healthy and nursing. Today mom seems lathargic and depressed and doesn't seem interested in her babies. She is out of the box every time i check on her and the babies are crying and she's not going to them. I did touch the kittens to change the bedding in the box but not for long and not when she was in the room. I'm concearned because she seems sick and does have some bloody discharge still and does not seem to want to clean herself, I did read, however that she could bleed for up to 10 days after delivery. This evening I couldn't find her for about 3 hours and when i did she was in the closet hiding alone. I had hoped that maybe she would move the kittens if she wasn't happy with where the kittens are now. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

The cat started laying on my stomach which was sweet but than he started pushing down on it with his paws and today he kept kissingme which was sweet and than he started kissing my stomach i don;t know if i had food on it or not, I don't care if this question is stupid I just don;t understand cats sometimes

I am considering on getting a chi. I love the way the furry ones look and they are soo cute. But I do not kno much about them. Tell me anything you kno about them Please! Do they eat a lot? Are they loud? Do they need a lot of doctors work? Do they ever get bigger that 6 pounds or so? Do they like being dressed up in clothes? Do they do well with friendly cats around? Do they need a lot of space? Do they have to go outside to use the bathroom a lot? how many times a day, estimetly? Do they like to be picked up and cuddled constantly? (i hope so! lol) PLEASE answer all these questions and anything else you can add, thanks so much. And one more thing, Does anyone know chi breeders in the Wisconsin-Illinios area??? THANKS AGAIN! =]

Ever since my dog was a puppy, he's been leaning on one leg which now is causing him to limp. I took him to the vet and the vet said it is nothing, about the limp. On the other paw he had a growth so it was hurting, he kept putting his weight on his good leg. The vet said it is nothing.
Well he is still leaning on his leg when he sits, he doesn't sit squarely. I am getting sick and tired of seeing him limp all the time. He was over weight in the past and always sat like that. Now he lost 5 pounds and still sits like that. I am trying every thing but it is not working. Sometimes he will sit nicley for about 5 seconds then lean on the leg again. I am growing very impatient with him. Please help! How can I get him to sit squarley??

I am moving tomorrow and would like any pointers on making the move easy, for me and my fish. Here is my plan: 1. net and bag all fish and place them into a cooler to keep the temp stable. 2. drain the tanks. 3. remove the rocks and sand and put them into a rubbermaid container. 4. break down the filters and put the media into a container with tank water. 5. move all of the stuff into the new place. 6. set everything up as quickly as possible to minimize the stress on my fishies. Am I missing anything? Anything that I could do differently? Thanks in advance.

I have a 4 yr old who has finally convinced me to adopt a kitten! didn't take much as I love cats but really want to know if there's a difference in tempermants, personality and playfulness when it comes to deciding on a boy or a girl kitten? Also is it advisable to get boys neutered because don't they have a tendancy to mark their territory by spraying on things? If anyone has any kitty cat knowledge I'd greatly appreciate some advice!
