First be sure they ARE ACTUALLY ear mites. Ear mites cannot be seen without a microscope. They will leave debris in the ear that looks like dried coffee grounds. Only a Vet can tell you if it is earmites and then prescribe medicine. The med takes 3-4 weeks of treatments but then they are gone. The med is not expensive either.

Dont buy crap at WalMart. That cheap *** store is not a Vet clinic.

Go to the store and get some ear mite medication in the pet aisle and some ear cleaner. Follow directions. If it doesn't seem to clear it up then take the cat to thet vet. This is very important cause I have a cat that the over the counter medicines didn't work on cause the ear mites were embedded way down deep inside his ears. The over the counter medicines couldn't get to the mites and he ended up kicking his ear loose and had to be surgically reattached. They also flushed out both his ears. Now, one of his ears is slightly deformed so be careful. The vet has ear mite drops that keep them from returning also.

Take your cat to the vet to make sure they are actually ear mites. Your cats ears will look black and crusty on the inside and he will be itching constantly at them. You won't be able to actually see the bugs with your own eyes. Do NOT buy over the counter products from a pet store or wal-mart! Your vet will prescribe you something like Milbemite which is great since it is a one dose treatment, and it should clear up shortly. Do not attempt to treat this yourself!

One way to get rid of your cats' ear mites would be to get rid of your cats. When you get rid of your cats, their mites go with them.

You could also try to persuade the mites to go away, and this can be done by attending to the mites' needs and establishing good credibility before trying to influence them. Simply put, mites need stuff. Figure out what that stuff is, and tell them that they could receive an abundance of it elsewhere. To establish good credibility, try to cite as many expert sources as possible when speaking to the mites. If you're going to be introduced to them as a guest speaker, make sure that a highly credible source introduces you. Also, dynanism can have a great influence on your credibilty. If you sound enthusiastic about perauding the mites that another place would be optimal, then you're more likely to succeed in persuading them to leave.

Hello ;-) You need to purchase ear mite medication from your vet. The products used over the counter rarely eliminate them plus can cause burning. Most ear mite treatments are 21 days and you should use a quality product from your vet especially because cats are more sensitive to certain medications. Hope this helps

There are several different brands of ear mite medication, but Mitaclear is more of a lotion instead of drops and is SO much easier to put in a cat ear and keep it there. If you choose the drops I hope your cat is well behaved.

Any place that sells pet supplies sells drops you can buy. Get them and just follow the directions on the box. Or there is always the option of taking the cat to the vet but that will cost a lot more money.

Keep the cat underwater. Eventually the mites won't be able to hold their breath any longer and they'll swim away.
