Ever since my dog was a puppy, he's been leaning on one leg which now is causing him to limp. I took him to the vet and the vet said it is nothing, about the limp. On the other paw he had a growth so it was hurting, he kept putting his weight on his good leg. The vet said it is nothing.
Well he is still leaning on his leg when he sits, he doesn't sit squarely. I am getting sick and tired of seeing him limp all the time. He was over weight in the past and always sat like that. Now he lost 5 pounds and still sits like that. I am trying every thing but it is not working. Sometimes he will sit nicley for about 5 seconds then lean on the leg again. I am growing very impatient with him. Please help! How can I get him to sit squarley??

I sit to one side, myself. I have sciatica...It hurts to sit 'squarely' for more then a few minutes.
I would surely take him to another vet. It sounds like your vet doesn't care at all...Many pups have hip or spinal problems when they are quite young, and the vet should have really checked for this...
If your vet hasn't done ex-rays, then he is not doing his job.

Your dog has been in pain too long, and it could have been helped long ago..

Since you are not planning to "show him" in a dog show, just leave him alone. He is not hurting himself by sitting that way. If he is limping it is not because he sits on one side.

He may have arthritis. If he has a little arthritis in one hip he may need to sit on the other side because it may be to painful to sit on the arthritic hip for too long.

Man!!! I would get another vet and get a set of hip x-rays ASAP!!!! That is a common problem with hip dysplasia!!!!!! Do not force the dog to sit squarely until you can rule out either hip or knee problems!!!!!!!!

I'd get a second opinion, sue your first vet, get your puppy's leg fixed, and use the rest of the money to get him a personal trainer.

I definitely serious about getting the second opinion.

Maybe your vet is an idiot and your dog has hip displacement which will eventually cripple him.

And geez, you don't like the way your dog sits?
