the earliest age it can be given is three months, however most vets wait until at least the 4th month. rabies vax are required for all dogs and cats, and must be vaccinated by 4 months of age in some states. if you haven't done so already, make an appointment with a veterinarian because although the rabies vaccination can wait a bit, there are other vaccines that are important for your new pups health and could potentially save their life. enjoy your new puppy!!

puppies should have at least one set of shots before going to homes. The vaccine schedule for puppies is usually 6, 9 and 12 weeks with the first rabies booster being at 16 weeks. As for the other end of the age spectrum, older animals. good luck! c",)

Ask your veterinarian. At three months I believe your puppy is old enough to receive a rabies vaccine. He or she will need a booster the following year, and then after that he or she will not need it again for three more years. Good luck!

Most vets will offer a rabies vaccine to a small breed dog around 6 months of age. It varies vet to vet so you should call one and ask them what they think. Regardless of age, it'll cost the same (usually around $10).

The interstate laws require them to be vaccinated at 4 months if they are traveling state to state...but, local laws require them to be vaccinated by 6 months.....Was just discussing this with my vet last week, when I took my dog in for her shots.

Your puppy should have already seen a vet., if not, you should do that soon. Your vet would be the one who should let you know when to do the rabies vaccination.
