We're taking two cats on a 10 hour car trip, because we're moving to a new house. I know this can be stressful on them (and us). Can any one recommend a kitty valium or something?

I'm sick of using the plastic bag trick for cleaning up dog poop in the backyard, but am too cheap to shell out $35 for the 2 aluminum sheets stapled to wooden dowels that the pet store calls a pooper scooper. It is just poop--I don't need anything with a diamond-encrusted handle, just a simple shovel device that is cost-effective. Without buying aluminum and dowels myself, has anyone contrived a cheap alternative to the scandalous pet store scoops?

i recently had two african cichlids in there. one was very territorial (kinda looked like a EBJD), i'm guessing he killed the other cichlid. then this wknd, my boyfriend unplugged the surge strip (thinking of conserving energy and forgot that we switched the aquarium plug to that strip!!!) connected to the tank and the 2nd cichlid passed, but the pleco survive (yay!). i would like to add one or two more fish in the tank if possible... any suggestions? (and yes, i am plugging the aquarium into a separate outlet)

So, I have a California kingsnake but I recently moved to an area where I cannot find frozen thaw mice. I plan on ordering some online soon, but until then I do not want to feed live because I don't want to risk my snake being injured by the feeder mouse. Is there a good/humane way to kill or stun the mouse before giving it to my snake?

I have a 13 week old cockapoo and he HATES his crate and is hesitant to even go near it. Every time we put him in it he fights and whines when we leave. But when other people (other then me or my gf) put him in it he stays in it without a fight and never whines. How is the best way to get him used to it? How long does it usually take to train a puppy to learn his name, and basic commands?

Vet said she thinks it a physiological murmur. Any idea what that means? Is my pets future doomed? I rescued this little kitten when I found it abandoned and now my heart is breaking with worry. Anyone out there had a kitten with a heart murmur who can offer advise? Thank You

There are hundreds! No joke, We have two outside cats but we have to contstantly feed them because the food dosnt last long. I refuse to get them put to sleep and im afraid animal shelters might do that. I also want to make sure they get GOOD long lasting homes.

We came home one night and we found a hermit crab on our front porch trying to squeeze into a crack in the bricks. HE wasn't wild b/c his shell was painted. lol So if any of you folks are missing a crab with a fleshy colored shell and a cartoon characters face painted on, we've got em. lol

I have two questions! First of all i found this sweet little boy walking down the middle of the highway! I had to bring him home, after going door to door putting up signs and putting an add in the paper no one claimed this sweetie so i decided to keep him! But i have two problems, eveyone says he looks like a purebred! I think he looks like a Chiuauaha/Papillion, is there any way i can be sure? And i need a good name for this sweet little boy but cannot come up with a good one! I'd appreciate any ideas! Thanks! Here are his Pix!!
