I have unplugged the heater and tried adding colder water but it soon warms up again. One fish has died, which could be coincidence. It's been this warm for a week or so and isn't looking like cooling down anytime soon. Can the fish live in these conditions ok?

i've heard this phrase used by several other ppl who share their homes w/cats, as i do. but i never understood it. they say their cats will come up and after greeting them, they will 'scent' them.

Please support PETA and boycott all IAMS and Eukanuba brand pet products for the atrocities they are performing on animals every day.

I mean... for example, when you pet/hold/hug them, how do they see that gesture? Can they tell they are loved?

I have seen two such questions posted here in the last week! The argument is that killing the animal by drowning - a frightening, slow and painful death! - is better than having a vet "KILL" the animal. Is this some horrible fad based on some anti-chemical religious practice? What can be done to get through to these people that drowning is one of the most INhumane ways to to put an animal to death... a bullet in the brain would be more humane than that!

Am caring for a tortoise over the weekend and letting it roam in the garden during the day. Are there any plants that may be poisonous ie sweet peas or buzy lizzie as she seems to like these? I live in northwest UK and mainly have shrubs. Any other foods to be avoided?
Thanks

My female Border Collie watches TV on occasion. Not like ...ER.. or the News... etc... something has to strike her Fancy,, ) by the way her name is Fancy!) Tonight it was MeerCat Mansion! I was flipping thru the channels and she was off doing her own thing,, when I hit upon this Animal Planet Channel with the Meer cats and she went Balistic!! Mostly it is with animals that her attention tunes into, but sometimes it;s with things like Sports! Hubby is a huge Sox& Bears fan and I am a Cardinals& Bears fan so we enjoy our sports( depends on where you were raised I guess as to what type fan you are) But it so hillarious to see this BC go off at the TV!!
Hubby does not get it! I say it is because she is a smarter type breed and picks up on not only the animal shows but what excites us. Do you agree or do you think some breeds or some dogs have their own likes and dislikes of programming? Or s it just the noise that attracts them?

Personally, I think it is excessive to take your animals to the vet every year for a shot. Last year, I took my cat in to the vet for a shot. The vet just looked at him and asked me a few questions, gave him a shot and we left $85 later! I think it is a waste of money, unless they become ill. Especially when the pet spends 99.999% of his time indoors.

My neighbour and I have taken on her uncle's rabbit who is roughly 2yrs. She has never really been held and was just left to roam the garden, not really seeing people other than to feed her or clean her hutch. We are trying to get her friendly but whenever we pick her up she growls and kicks to get away leaving us with scratches everywhere and confused kids as our other rabbit is so friendly! Are we fighting a losing battle? should we carry on? Any ideas on softening her? please help, she is an albino!

Why is it that whenever cats/dogs see people eating they just sit in front of them and stare at them? I know they're expecting to be fed, but I don't understand how they are able to tell that people are eating.

I know it seems a stupid question, but I'm expecting serious answers. I mean to what extent do animals understand human behaviour?
