Am caring for a tortoise over the weekend and letting it roam in the garden during the day. Are there any plants that may be poisonous ie sweet peas or buzy lizzie as she seems to like these? I live in northwest UK and mainly have shrubs. Any other foods to be avoided?
Thanks

Here are some good lists but they are far from complete. You may want to consider joining the Tortoise Trust - it's based in the UK & they will be able to help you with your tortoise questions.

YES. I can not give you an exact list but when having a reptile in your yard you should be careful and put only edibale plants in the area he will be in. I always try to have stuff like cilantro, hibiscus and several forms of grasses. Also I have noticed that alot of reptile stores cell tons of air plants, bromileads and aloe type plants. So you may be able to turn your yard into a really cool and safe desert like atmosphere for your tortise. There are website where you can get a list of unsafe/ safe plants

I hope this helps.

Yes as they could be polluted or the wrong type of plant for the type of tortoise. Dandelion leaves are the best, but wash them them fully in case there is cat/dog wee on them. Never get plants near roads. My tortoise LOVES dandelion leaves eats loads and he is sooooo tiny smaller than a 15 year olds hand palm and he is healthy and fit. Do NOT feed it grass as tortoises can't digest them. I live in the northwest as well so dandelion leaves would be best or you could buy a variety of seeds on the internet, but it is quite expensive.

Least paintings is the tortoise and that's the longest lived. Bunnies want greater interest than human beings recognize - you will have them as a house bunny or outdoors bunny. gorgeous companions, yet shortest lived of the three. Kittens are lovable and alter into adults with physique of concepts! you're by no skill on my own once you have a cat. i could choose for the kitten, different than i does no longer in my opinion, as a results of fact i'm too previous and it may outlive me.
