It's not so much a craving for milk, as a desire for maternal affection. Kittens will continue to display this behaviour for up to a year and older cats still do this for their 'mother' figure. It's sort of the price paid for domesticating a cat - that is, it never fully 'grows-up' mentally, and holds on to many of those 'kitten-like' behavioural patterns. Mainly because it is still encouraged to play, yet has all it's welfare needs catered for (shelter, food and water), is regularly groomed (stroking) so like an over mothered child who never wants to leave home, it prefers to stay that way.
I've often seen young cats try and suckle adult male cats - and both seem to get comfort out of it. Just enjoy the affection.
You can buy special kitten milk, but it it unnecessary and won't stop the behaviour. AVOID COWS MILK as many others have mentioned.

Giving kittens milk will give them diarrhea and isn't good for them. If you must give her milk, use the special kitten milk that you buy at the pet shop.

Roxy misses her mom and kneads and suckles you, because she thinks you are her new "mom". She does this for comfort. Some people think cats do this when they are taken from their mother too young, but I've had several cats that have done this but weren't weaned too young, so I think they just do it because it's their instinct and they love us!

Yes, she wants milk. No you shouldn't give it to her. Get her on a good dry food. The suckling behaviour will go on for a while (6 months) , but as she gets older she will grow out of it.

OK my cay " Lucy-Loo" who now is approximately 3 years. She gets in moods where she will suck on blankets, but they have too be he furry kind. I was thinking she may have been taken from her mom too soon but it may just be a habit she's picked up. I don't think you really need to worry. However it isn't a good idea to give her milk. Unless it is the special kitten formula. Kitten's and cat belong to the feline family. They are not cows. Good luck!!

You're lucky to have such an affectionate cat, mine does that too, and she's 13 years old. If she's old enough to drink from a bowl she probably just wants to cuddle with you and go to sleep.

first milk is not good for cats.

two no she's not looking for milk. cats who has been parted from their mom at an early age usually remain with this deficiency so they turn to other things. it calms them down.
if you want him to stop then talk to a cat beaver specialist who can advice you on how to stop this.

my cat was 6 weeks old when i got him, and he was already fine to eat regular food. it could just be habit for her. in time, she should stop. expecially if you don't encourage her. also, i don't think milk is very good for them too often. i heard that once, but i don't remember from where. enjoy your kitty!
