I don't know on what grounds You are suggesting dogs as the favourite pets of boys specifically.. but if so, then I think that the favourite pets of grils should definately be boys!

Snakes are the best pets ever because they are so easy to take care of but I love a burro named Fargo. He is affectionate and seems to listen to the stories that Itell him at the end of my day.
My two daughters ages 10 and 14 insisit that their cats are the best pets that they ever had.

when they say dog is "mans" best friend, they are using "man" in place of "the entire human race." they dont literally mean MEN, or boys. they mean everyone. dogs are girls favorite pet too.
