It is a strange phenomenon, and dogs are certainly interesting in many things they do. But this one dog, a FEMALE no less, is clearly in charge whenever in a roomful of dogs of all sizes and breeds. Why is this so?

Let him off his lead for the first time this week. All was going really well until today. A huge alsation came bounding out the bushes and chased him. He ran off in the opposite direction, only returning when a couple prompted him to return in my direction. Now I do not feel very confident and pretty gutted really, as we were both enjoying the off lead walking. How can I either stop him running off after people or animals? Or if he does how to I ensure he comes back?

My kitty just died yesterday afternoon and I am having a terrible time. I feel a lot of guilt like I didn't take care of her properly even though she lived for 17 years. She slowed down a lot in the last year but to me it looked natural age progression. I was away for the last 5 out of 7 days of her life and feel horrible about it. I don't know if there was anything that could be done differently or not but I keep going over all the possibilities in my mind. Maybe if I would have stayed home...maybe if I would have taken her to the vet on Tuesday. She never seemed to be in pain except for maybe the last breath she took. She died with me laying beside her and I can't get her shuttering image out of my mind. I am having a really tough time not thinking about what could have been different. How do I know if it wasn't something that if I would have taken her to the doctor she would have been okay. Everyone has been so supportive with the questions I have had so thank you.

my parents and I (14 yrs), and my 3 younger siblings 11 yrs, 7 yrs, and 2 yrs,we want a dog so i did a test on yahoo and they said the bichon frise is the best but they dont meet our standards with children, my sister and i wanted a scottish terrier but they need grooming aswell as the bichon frise, we want a young puppy that is easy to handle, and we dont want a dog that will grow to be more than 10 inches. we have a rabbit, and my 2 yr old sister always likes to bother him and play with him(chasing), and she sometimes hurts him, but since he is gentle he only nibbles at her and doesnt bite.

Is there anything I can do about this?? My family, heart and wallet are devestated.

What about the cats and dogs without owners? They'd be considered wildlife, wouldn't they?

I was just wondering what someone in the big city considers as wildlife.

riddle... need the answer

2006-07-20 05:58:28 · 21 answers · asked by Peter Griffin 6 in Birds

He is acting very weird. He's wobbeling around like he's drunk, but he's not. He'll just be walking and fall over and lay down. He doesn't care of you poke at him or anthing, he just lays there. Then he'll suddenly jump up and run around for a minute, then he'll run into something or fall to the ground. When he's just sitting still his head moves around like one of those bobble head dogs.

I think i'm going to take him to the vet as soon as i can leave work.

Any suggestions on what could be wrong, we cant find anything that he got into that could poison him, HELP

Some people are so stupid I could laugh if it wasn't so sad.
Things people say and answered questions that people have entered, where do these people get their info from? and who ever answered a question starting with, dogs are colour blind, you are wrong! dogs can see some colour and see better in the dark then we do so there :-p

Seriously, he will disappear, and we'll hear him crying or barking from the bathroom. He has crawled in and is laying there. He spends half the way just hanging out in the bath tub. The air conditioning is on or I would think he might be hot or something. He's a 4month old Golden retriever.
