Go to your local pet supply shop and you will learn who does dog sitting in your area...
No way can you safely leave your dog alone, any more then if he were your child..
If you can't afford the dog sitter (usually $15-20 per day), then stay home....Responsibility is tough, but a part of life.
Edit: I really like Greggath's advice about bartering for babysitting!
You could even barter for "I'll take care of your dog next time"

Do you have a fenced yard? It's difficult to set up a dog for any extended period of time, as they don't tend to monitor their eating well. See about a pet - sitter. Someone you hire to come and look in on the dog while you are away. They usually cost less than bording, and the dog is still in it's own envirnornment so they are happier. If you can't do that, I suggest that you see if you have a neighborhood kid that you could trust enough to come in and check on the dog. You are in a pickle, and if you can't make arrangements for the dog - I suggest you cancel your plans and be a responsible pet owner

Well the dog is your responsibility and you cannot leave a dog alone without someone to care for it. Keep calling on friends or family to help. Otherwise you have to find the money to board the dog or get a pet sitter. Perhaps ask a neighbor or barter dog-sitting for baby sitting or something.

Then you should stay home. If you can not pay to take the animal to a kennel or a house/pet sitter or you do not have any friends or neighbors that will care for the animal stay home. Owning an animal is a big responsibility.

Well, I feel bad for the poor little pup that he can't come. Well, in the past I left my dog in the garage or a room in the house thats fenced in. I have one of my friends come over about 2-3 times a day to feed him and play with him and let him go bathroom. I now you can't find a friend to watch him/her maybe you can find a friends friend for a few days.

sorry i gues s you cant go away, you cant leave a dog alone for that lenght of time, and come on, you dont have friends that have comeover too your place , that know your dog, and would look after it, second if your going away you must have money too go, so then put your dog in a boarding kennel for the 2 days , or else stay home

You could put him in a kennel, ask if your vet boards pets, get a house/pet sitter, or send your dog on vacation to a friend's house. If you can't afford those things, try craigslist.org or call your local pet shelter. Perhaps they could give you a low cost option.

Most localities have dog sitters who will board your animal while you're away. Check your yellow pages under "pet sitting."
Also, check with your vet. We board our mutt at our vet's office whenever we're going to be away for a while. He charges $10.00 per day and provides food, water, and let's the dog outside as necessary.

Did you not think of these things before you decided to leave town? Well, I'm sure you have family that can "dogsit" him while your gone. Its only Friday and Saturday and you come back Sunday night.
