my husband was talking to this woman about a turtle. we have a African side neck turtle.. and he wants another one.. but she told him that she had the turtle since birth and gave him a list of things she does with it..

she does not have a heat lamp.. it is in a glass container in front of a window for the sun to hit him.. and she puts him in water 4 hours a day and feeds him.. what i want to know is.. IF i decide to take this turtle... do i need to continue what she is doing.. or do i do what i do for my turtle that i already have. Do turtles get used to the same thing or what?

I do plan on taking it to a vet if we get it.

I think this is a very good question. I'm curious on how you put a handle on it, besides putting the dog on a leash & walking him so he burns some else's lawn.

My new puppy is upset when in his crate. I crate him during the day for 3-4 hours at a time and at night. I am afraid he is suffering from seperation anxiety...or is it something else? Is it normal to whine and bark and if so, for how long?

My 4 month old puppy (a beagle/britney spaniel mix) is slightly overweight so the vet told me to cut down to 2 meals a day since I did that he's been constipated and generally cranky! (probably from the constipation) any ideas on what I can do to help him? (douching is not an option) thanks!!

She's very good around the house, but I cant even take her for a walk as she tries to attack other dogs and people. At home she has to be locked away if visitors come as she cant be trusted.
She only likes a hand ful of peopl in total. She has not been mistreated in any way. I cant see any reason for this behavior.
Any suggestion? Also, impossible to take holiday as I dont think any kennels in the West Midlands would look after her.
If anyone knows of a good Dog kennels in the Dudley area I would appreciate your knowledge.
many thanks.

You know when your pet cat or dog is happy, sad or scared. Do you think a pet fish has feelings like this and if so how do they express these feelings?

She's been to the vet to check for bladder infections, behavioral issues, etc. Nope. And we've tried to relate it to certain events (when we go out, or if her litter hasn't been changed in a day) and it's just at random times and rarely in the same spot. We've even caught her doing it right in front of us. I have no idea what this could be.
Any suggestions?

My cat refuses to wash himself. I brush him regularly, but he still get dreadlocks that I must cut off with scissors. I also use those dry bathing wipes from time to time because putting him in the tub is not an option, he goes nuts. Any ideas?

I recently adopted my first puppy, a feisty male Boston terrier. He is 12 weeks old now and this morning when I took him out for his usual 6:00 am elimination, it came out as diarrhea. I looked in a couple of dog books I have and they didn't really give me a clear indication of what to do. About half an hour later, puppy had an accident on the kitchen floor (I should have known he wanted to go out but didn't catch the signals) which was also diarrhea. I have been looking at differnet website for an answer as to what I should do and have found different opinions. Some say to have the puppy fast from food and water for 12 hours. Others say to take him to the vet immediately. Our vet doesn't open for a few more hours and I'm wondering what I should do between now and when I ask the vet what to do. One thing I have found is that I must do something about this before he becomes dehydrated. You're looking at one worried mama! Oh, and he is just as energetic as usual.

My indoor dog is 3.5 years old and she is great. She rarely has accidents in the house. While I fully expect accidents, I need to know how to train her to use a certain place in the house for those accidents. I am patient and I know this takes time, I'm simply looking for technique advice.

Quite recently my cat has looked skinny. He hasn't gone off his food at all and his coat is still nice and shiny. Could the hot weather be to blame????

It was so hot yesterday, and this cat that visits us was flopped in our kitchen... I thought it was just swimming they didn't like so I sprinkled a few drops of water on her and she yelped and bolted like it was sulphuric acid!
