I always wanted to name a dog "Stay".
"Stay, come here! Come here, Stay!"
It'd just be funny.
Also, Doctor (or The Doctor) would be funny. Then when they call him into the vet's office they'll say , "Doctor Smith, we're ready to see you." And some kid and his dog get up and wander in, leaving the rest of the patrons to wonder which one's the doctor.

My late wolf/German Shepherd/Chow was named Vashti. I would tell people it was because she didn't come when she was called. If you are familiar with the Book of Esther you will know understand. People thought that was very funny and unusual.
