I use a special treats as a reward (one that he normally doesn't get)... the dog only gets it when he/she goes OUTSIDE.
I start out by taking the dog outside, and saying "go pee" or "go poop" over and over. When the dog goes, then I carry on like I the Publishers Clearing House Prize Van just pulled in to my driveway!!!! And, I give the treat right there on the spot!
It's important that you pay very close attention to the dog. Keeping it leashing inside with her will help with this. If you can't be right there, then you should crate the dog.
You should take the dog out frequently. If you doesn't know what times he/she generally needs to potty, then keeping a log might help.

If she has accidents she's either NOT fully housetrained or you are leaving her alone for way too long. Housetrained dogs don't have accidents unless they simply, physically can't hold it any longer.
So, either re-evaluate how long you're leaving her alone, or step up the housetraining. I recommend crate-training highly for housetraining. We had gotten our new dog housetrained to the point that he was only having an accident a few times a month, but he was always having it on our bed where he'd hang out during the day. We crate-trained him. He won't go in his crate because dogs won't go where they sleep and eat, so he holds it until I get home and let him outside. When he goes outside, I praise him and give him goodies. So far since we've started the crating, no accidents. He's on his way to being completely housetrained!

Poor dog. Is she left in the house while you go to work and leave her alone all day? It would be better to go home at lunchtime to let her out so she can relieve herself rather than try to train her to have her "accidents" in a more acceptable place. Either that or you could have a neighbor or friend take her out? It would be worth it to pay someone a few dollars a week to do this. Why else would you "fully expect accidents" to happen?

Observe you dog.
Before she goes, she smells the ground before she lets herself go.
It would be advisable to get a sizable sand box and keep it in a designated place in the house or balcony/ verandah that you wish her to use as her GO area.
Her urine leaves traces in areas that tell her its fine to go there.
You need to dab her urine in a rag and keep that rag in the sand box.
That is where she will seek and use after that.
Meanwhile in the areas you know she has used in the past must be masked of with bleach. The bleach will eliminate traces of her urine and she will seize from using other parts of the house..
That.s the best way to house train a dog.

Training them to not have accidents is a lot easier to train them how to have accidents in a paticular area.
If your dog rarely has accidents, don't give them free roam of the house, crate train the dog or only have them ina room with linoleum floors. (no rugs)

When we got our puppy we took her to a friends housefor a couple of days with an older dog, that was already potty trained and she trained herself. i think just seeing the other dog go outside really helped.

buy "puppy pads" or wee pads and put them in desirable corners of a room...when she goes elsewhere, take the pad and absorb some of the number 1 on it and put it back in the corner, and take her with you...if she does a number 2 then you need to get the smell onto the pad...you'll come up with how to do that on your own...always put the pad in a corner or discrete place

put her in a "Bad doggie" behavior spot , where you want her to go pee and close her in so she cant get out. she will remember this everytime she has to go pee and go where you want her to go. Just punish her to the point where she is sad just until she learns her lesson to not go pee and then when she pees you reward her with a crazy out burst cheer, hug, kiss and scooby snack so that she will learn that going pee where you want her to will make her "good".
