Quite recently my cat has looked skinny. He hasn't gone off his food at all and his coat is still nice and shiny. Could the hot weather be to blame????

Yes its prob the heat, cats lose a lot more weight in the summer than at any other time, my cat is also looking very thin at the moment but this happens every year once it starts getting cooler the weight will come back on.

Also might just want to try worming it just in case.

How old is the cat? If it is also drinking a lot of water it may be kidney trouble? I'd take the cat to the vet straight away to have it checked out

Worms. Probably Tape Worms. Big ones.

My cat looks a lot smaller in the summer after he sheds, so if your cat is still eating his regular diet, he is probably okay. Maybe you could weigh him and keep an eye on his weight?

Yes, it certainly could, but a lot of other things could also cause this. I would ask a vet to check him over just to be on the safe side- you would never forgive yourself if you didnt take him and it turned out to be something horrible. Good luck.

yes, when it is hot, cats can lose body fat to keep cooler. You might also have him checked to make sure he does not have worms or another condition that may be causing weight loss
