Doubt if it is snails. Could be lighting - a lot of aquatic plants take a lot more light than you get from a regular strip light to thrive. Could be a nutrient or fertilizer problem. Then some plants tend to wilt occasionally and come back.

Our snails haven't messed with any of our live plants... Do you use a fertilizer? If not, try one like Flourish. It might also be your fish, depending on what kind you have.

if you have fish it culd be them, otherwise it is deffinetly the snails, the snails in my tank do exactly the same thing (if they beat the fish to it)

i have never seen this occur. they normally just eat the algae. you probably have another problem. i had aquariums for years and never seen this.
