scold her when u find her doing so my female beagle does it to me, my whole family, cats, and other dogs. but we got her to stop it. when she does so yell NO! and give her a lite swat on her butt. Not a hit just litly with ur wrist only swat her on her butt so that she know you touching her buit doesn't hurt. when you do so dogs get the impression that next time it will hurt. now it will take weeks maybe a month or two but it will make her stop. only takes that long cause dogs can easily forget or relize that ur not so mad ur ganna through her out so they do it agian. and if you've only had a it for less then two years then its ganna take a while cause its testing you.

hope i helped think of her as a two year old kid. Ok u can e-mail me at sidesadle11@yahoo.com if u have any pet questions.

Give one of them away to a good home? Let the dog hump your leg instead? J/K Poor cat! I hope both animals are neutered.

You need to intervene when this happens. Gently but firmly say no to the dog as you move it away from the cat. Then do not acknowledge the dog in any way until she exhibits the appropriate behavior, then you can pet her and praise her. You will have to be consistent and intervene every single time or it won't work. You might need to also get a "special" pillow or stuffed animal for the dog.

It's a dominate thing. I am guessing that your female dog was aruond before your male cat. It'll lessen as times goes on. The it may never stop, but it won't be as frequent. You might also try filling a spray bottle full of water and spraying it in her face when she begins to hump.

Your female dog is inlove with your male cat, lock or chain the dog so she won't chase the cat

This is a dominance behavior, as suggested by Brandy. You need to become alpha in the pack by training her and by correcting her for humping. Startle her by clapping your hands loudly and abruptly and by commanding her "stop it". Then put her in a sit and praise her. Be consistent.
