i got a female syrian, and i have fed her broccoli by holding the broccoli between my index finger and my thumb so my hand is not in front of the broccoli. she nibbled it peacefully. then i tried to feed her by putting the broccoli on my palm, but all she does is smell my hand and walk away, and twice she tried to gnaw my hand. she also wont let me pick her up, although i dont think she would because this was only the second day i got her. i am asking for tips on how to tame hamsters so the wont bite, will take food off your palm, and let you pet them and hold them. thx for answering~

I paid $25 for a dewormer called Tape Worm Tabs (Praziquantel) by Trade Winds™. I looked in a catalog from an online merchant and they sell it for $9 and lists retail as $15. Both are the exact same 3 tabs package. So Petsmart marked up an additional $10 over retail??????? I don't go there much so do they do this on other items too???

Damn, should I complain about this or not? I already used one tablet on my kittens because they have tape worms.

Well anyways... anyone know when the tapeworms will get pooped out or die?????

And when should I deworm them again? 1 month? 2?

I have a 6 week old Chihuahua. She is eating very well (about every 4 hours) and plays a lot. I know she has a tiny bladder and needs to go pee about every 3 hours. She sleeps next to my bed during the night and "calls" me when she needs to be taken outside, I take her, she pees, then falls back asleep.

My question: At around what age (generally speaking) can a Chihuahua hold his desire to go pee through the enitire night??

These are not actually bluebirds. They are very bright blue with very long, curved beaks.
They land very close to me and seem like they'd even eat out of my hand after some getting used to. They are very aggressive, and other birds try to chase them away from trees.
They land on the fence and will smash their beaks against the top of it from side to side ....sort of like they're sharpening them.

I've lived in this high-desert area for 23 years and have never seen these birds before.
Any ideas?

I feed my dog homecooked food with Solid Gold vitamin supplements. I cook chicken, brown rice, sweet potatoes, carrots and broccolli together. (Veggies change from week to week and I somtimes add liver). This diet consist of 1/3rd meat, 1/3rd rice, 1/3rd veggies. I make crunchy home made dog biscuits with wheat germ and brewers yeast for treats. My dog appears very healthy and full of energy but I am wondering if this diet is really better for my dog than commercial dog food? I was feeding my dog California Natural lamb & rice dry dog food (a high quility dog food) until the last couple of months. Now she is completely on homemade food. I am wondering if she is missing any thing in her diet. Any suggestions?

my pomeranian dog has a swelled behind & had a little bloody/white discharge yesterday. He at some food that he is not used to eating (hot dog/sausage/some other food that he found on the ground...(corn cob/beans) could this be what caused it or should I take him to the vet?
