Ohh this could be very serious. He may be impacted or he could have eaten something like a sharp bone or something. You should definitely take him to a vet ASAP!

I would take him to the vet. It could be the food he got into but I can't see that making his bum swell or giving him bloody stool. Honestly, he may have a tumor or growth in there. Either way, the only way to really know is to get him medical treatment. Just prepare yourself for what the vet might say and the possible costs. Sick animals can be very expensive.

My small yorkie did the same thing, TAKE HIM TO THE VET!! Little dogs aren't supposed to eat table food, its really bad for them. My dad doggie sat for a week ,and my pup had a bacterial intestinal infection from the table food. Not saying thats what it is, it could be worms and his booty is raw from the runs and itching his booty of the floor. But It can be something serious so have it checked out ASAP!!!

Don't know about big dogs, but I have seen little dogs like yours suffer from symptoms you describe! It IS a clogged up gland (name escapes me), GET THAT LITTLE DOGGY TO VET NOW!! It probable won't cost more than a visit, vet will/should teach/tell you how to maintain this /these glands. It's gonna get worse, act ASAP!! (If you love that little dog.)

What do you mean? Where is the swelling?? The vulva or the rectum??? You are sure he is male? If the rectum is swollen he may be constipated or have blocked anal glands. To rule out anything serious, take him/her to the vet. If this dog is female she could be in heat.

Take him to the vet.
It could be as simple as impacted/infected anal glands (not that this can't be deadly and nasty), or it could be something much more serious.
