We couldn't figure out which breaker controlled the thermostat, so we took down the power to the entire house. The thermostat seems to be powered, everything else in the house works, but I've turned the AC to 73 and it still won't come on. Any ideas that are easy and safe, or do I need professional help?

I have an odd size back door on my house. The veneer is gone from the bottom to about 2/3rds up. The interior is a wood particle and falls off every time it rains. I've been thinking about putting a new veneer on it or a very thin sheet of metal. What is the best way to repair the door without replacing?

Yesterday I woke up to the bedroom outlets not working. The entire circut is two bed rooms that are side by side. The one room is working fine while the other has no power at all. I replaced the circut breaker for the bed room circut with no help. Next i replaced the 3 outlets in the room, still nothing. The last thing i did was test the outlets and they all seem to be getting power. Thank you for any help anyone can provide on this. I don't know where to check next.

I'm planning to replace a tile floor in a walk-in cooler. The tile is being replaced because the wood subfloor under it is rotten and saturated from a leak in the ceiling. So the subfloor has been perpetually wet for a very long time (years I would guess). My question is, can mold grow in refridgerated temperatures inside this restaurants cooler?

For the last couple weeks it has been hot. My outside AC broke. I have had a few quotes, ranging from $2500 up to $4000. I think this is outrageous, however I understand equipment and time can be expensive for some. My goal is to replace this as inexpensive and effectively as possible. I am told I have a "dual coil unit", which I am led to believe my indoor hardware and outdoor fan/box hardware needs to be ripped and replaced. I am led to believe my outside fan box is the broken part. Why not just replace that?

I would like to know if possible

1) Is Trane, the brand unit I have, universally interchangeable with non-Trane hardware
2) Can I just replace the outdoor Fan/box (I call it that, you know the square grey unit with fan which is installed outside for AC).

I would love to be able to acquire just that part, if interchangeable, used/new, and get the AC running as cheaply as possible. It is over 10 years old made in 1993. The model # is TTR060C100A0. Options? :-) TY!!

We have this thermostat at work and it was programmed by someone long ago and now no one really knows how to get it to keep cooler air coming as it has been set to run various programs and now we dont need those programs we just need it to run.

Is there anyway to "purge" the programs that are in so it can just be turned off and on to cool when need be?

Thanks

I was told years ago not to mess with the ceiling vents. But one bathroom is much colder than the rest of our two story house.
It has two outside ac units and is a 4500 square foot home.

Hia, I need a replacement mains fuse, which is fitted to a black box that powers the houses consumer unit. The one that has blown is rated at 80 amps, and is large and green.

Does anyone know where I could buy one from, an online shop would be ideal?

I purchased a new sink faucet to repace my old one with. My old sink had a handle for hot, and cold. It also had a sprayer and of course the faucet itself. The new faucet I purchased didn't come with a sprayer (because I thought I didn't need to get one since I already had one). The new sink faucet set has a white piece of plastic at the bottom of the faucet portion itself, so I'm not sure if the sprayer I had will connect to it.... Do you know if it will? Also can you give me a step by step as to how to replace the faucet? Thanks.

We have two dehumid. running in our basement 24/7, and our electric bill is HUGE. What would be a good humidity level to keep? I don't want to pay to keep it below 40% if it isn't necessary, but I don't want it so high that it gets musty and mold can grow.
We have a bedroom, family room and laundry in the basement.

The valve that my ice maker hose attached to started leaking. Ice maker doesn't work, so I turned off water main, removed stop-cock valve, filed and cleaned the copper pipe and applied plumbers epoxy. It says to wait 20 minutes but I've never used it before so I wanted to know if you've used it and is it pretty accurate as to time to set/harden.
Thanks!

Does anyone know of a toystore or toy manufacturer that sells such a thing? It cannot be made of glass, has to be very highly polished stainless steel or some other metal that cannot break but reflects a face as well as a glass mirror does.

Any ideas?
