watery AC unit?

so i just got an AC unit for my 1st apartment. problem is it drips water into the inside and it puddles up all over the sill. It seems that i leans forward a little bit. but becuase of how my windows are, i cannot adjust how it fits in. is there a way to get the water to stop? or at least go out the back?

I had that problem in a former home and what I ended up doing was to go to my local lumber yard and buy a scrap of 2"x3" lumber and using that on the sill to raise the front of the unit sufficiently to pitch it back. Hard to say for sure if this will work since I do not know your window configuration.

There is really no other way than to have an outside fall on the unit. The reason being that the condensation moisture is designed to drain by gravity alone. It may be possible to run a plastic hose from the corner the water is flowing to and route the line outside the space next to the unit, depending on available clearance.

The unit must be mounted level, or slightly inclined to the back to drain the water.
It is possible to get a larger drain pan, such as are used for water heaters, and put the drain hole in the back, but of course this pan must be mounted with the inside higher than the outside.
If this can't be done, try a large bucket inside.
