I live in an apartment complex. If someone else (say my next door neighbor) flushes something down the toilet, can it show up floating in mine?

I recently installed a door for one of my old friends (yes, it is the one that I installed upside down without him noticing it, and now I have a bit more time to correct it and coat it with polyurethane).

The problem is, is that this man gave me some old polyurethane that his wife bought him for their last anniversary together before she died at her job testing bungee jumping cords, and as a result this polyurethane is quite aged and too thick to use for the door as it is. It's gluppy and has lumps in it. How can I thin it down to get rid of the gluppiness?

This man is insanely attatched to this polyurethane and insists that I use it on this door...although he hasn't noticed that the window is on the bottom yet.

There is a duplicate fixture over the stove that works just fine. I am next to positive that I installed the new flourescent tube correctly. The circuit breaker is fine. What in the world could go wrong with a light fixture like this? I understand how electronics break, but how does such a simple device stop working? Please give me some suggestions as to how to fix the light. Thank you very much for all of your help. I am very thankful to all those who help me out with answers.

Sincerely,
Ken M

If you are planing to repaint the exterior of a house does it need to be primed before being painted except over glossy paint and bare wood. I've repainted several houses without priming the whole house just spot priming the areas that do need it and it has turned out fine. However i come across people keep saying that you ALWAYS need prime before repainting. I do know that you need to prime bare wood/metal and repaired areas.

I have to exchange my faucet handles but do not wish to shut the whole house down just to take the diverter to Lowes to match them up.

Time to start budgeting for the pool repairs we know that we will need in 2007! Does anyone have a ballpark estimate on how much we'll need to replace a vinyl pool liner for an inground pool?!? It is 20'x40', 8' deep at the deep end and 3 1/2' deep at the shallow end. In case it's relevant... we live in the Midwest (US).

Thanks!

None of my stoppers work, so I stuck a small towell in the drain. It worked once, but the last time I did it, the water still sepped down the drain as I was in the tub. Thanks!

This is my second one in les than 5 months. Pipes just got holes and water comes out under my house. Than it takes days before we can see leaks. Last time 32000 gallons of water came before we realized that we had a leak.
I can't afford to repipe whole house, does any one know how I can prevent this to happen again...
Thanks!

It goes out at daybreak. The only function that doesn't work is the actual motion feature. I've tried resetting it via the circuit breaker but no luck there. The red light is blinking as if it's waiting to detect motion. When I do reset it at night, it doesn't wait for motion, it automatically comes on and remains on. I didn't keep the instructions for it but I'm guessing it's time to replace it. Any other ideas? It's a Journeyman type model and only survived one storm. Immediately following the storm, it didn't work at all. It eventually began to work in its current state after the first reset I tried. The sensitivity switch is at the lowest setting and my light on timer is set to one minute.

I can't remove the panel at the bottom to get to all the stuff underneath. It tilts upward, but not enough so that I can do anything without holding it up. This is an old Kenmore dishwasher and the wiring doesn't look like the pictures I am finding online. Help!

My electrician has installed the chime and checked all connections, and has the door bell on a different electrical circuit. He feels that it must be some sort of frequency that gets sent out because despite of moving the door bell to a different circuit the problem still occurs. The transformer is old and is located in the basement and has not been replaced in years. The fan dimmer switch is about 10 feet from the door bell. It appears that when the light switch is ON (its on the same face plate as the fan dimmer) I do not have the problem. Once I turn off the light and move the fan dimmer switch the door bell will play.

Thank you for taking the time to provide suggestions to addressing this problem!
