Damage to the Bulb-Holder [Overheating] Is The Wattage Correct?
If The Remainder of The Bulb is Still in The Holder Ensure the Light Switch & MAINS is off.....Remove....Examine Holder....Re-Install New Bulb ...Restore Supply....Good Luck

I assume that you have already changed the bulb and it still does not work.

Are any other lights not working? I hope so. If yes, check your breakers or fuses.

If no, you have a loose wire in the ceiling. I would highly recommend that you do not try DIY. Based on the question, you do not know enough about electricity to do it safely. The bad wire could be hard to get to also, so it might be a big deal to fix. Hopefully, it will just be within the ceiling box and you simply have to replace the light and no other wiring.

Check the fuse box! And I wouldn't trust the socket in the closet anymore--it may be damaged that caused the sparks, and perhaps maybe a fire hazard. Perhaps a new socket before adding a new light bulb.

Find the fuse box and see if one of the switches is turned off. Turn it back on. If thats not the problem...??
