I have a table-top fan in my room.
Each time I use it after a while, it will cause the circuit breaker to cut the power in the whole house.
It usually trips in the early morning around 7am.
Recently, it trips more often and sometimes even after 30 minutes of using it at night.
Each time, I will need to unplug the fan socket and go to the living room to switch back on the "Fuis" at the main circuit box.
I have tried using the fan in the living room to check if the problem lies in the fan or the socket in my room. And I noted that the power still cuts off when i use the fan in the living room or kitchen or other rooms.
Instead of throwing the fan away, is there any way that I can change something in the fan so that I can still use it?
Thank you very much.

My question is.... should I remove the old caulk and recaulk the base of the toilet where it meets the tile floor.... or is the problem something having to do with the wax seal leaking, therefore causing the leak around the caulk. Thanks.

Brick home is only 18 months old and the brick under the front window stays wet after a good rain. We can't figure out if the water is going through the brick sill or the window itself is defective and somehow the water is going behind the brick from the window. Even though the builder acknowledges there is a problem from day one, he will not take responsilbility. Of course, now that the one year warranty is over, he doesn't care. What are our options? Should we get estimates and fix ourselves or should we file a complaint against with the NC licensing board? Is this a common problem with brick?

I placed my things inside a storage for 6 months. When I picked them up I noticed that some of my stuff had been damaged by mice. I remember seeing a small roach inside there too at one point. What can I do with my things, Is warm water and detergent enough to clean them. The house I moved into is brand new. I also have a baby. Even my mattress looks like it has been scratched or eaten by mice. The insurance company said that uhaul is insured and should cover the damages, but what about the things that were exposed and have mice droppings.

My manual garage door (no electric opener) is fubar-ed. It has a large coil spring in the top center and two cables attached to the bottom of the door on each side. One of the side cables has become detached and the resulting pressure is causing the other cable to lock up and not allow it to close. It's not a repair that I'd like to try myself, but I'd like to get the door closed until I can have a professional come look at it. Any ideas?

I have tried to take off the other cable but there is too much tension and I'd prefer not to cut it, but it seems like that may be my only option.

Thanks for any help.

My dishwasher gets stuck between the wash and rinse cycle. I don't know much about such things but I do know sometimes it is less expensive and troublesome to just replace old appliances. This particular dish washer is about 5 years old.
