I placed my things inside a storage for 6 months. When I picked them up I noticed that some of my stuff had been damaged by mice. I remember seeing a small roach inside there too at one point. What can I do with my things, Is warm water and detergent enough to clean them. The house I moved into is brand new. I also have a baby. Even my mattress looks like it has been scratched or eaten by mice. The insurance company said that uhaul is insured and should cover the damages, but what about the things that were exposed and have mice droppings.

Mouse poopies are toxic. It is hard to throw stuff out and buy new because stuff is expensive these days. I would say clean as much as you can, but somethings may not be salvageable.

I'm sorry to say this, but I'd get rid of what i possibly could. The mice droppings can make your baby and yourself sick! Not to mention the fleas that they carry, and who knows what else. The roaches, you.ll have to spray. If you saw one,I'll guarantee there are plenty more, and their eggs as well. You might try looking in the big New Western Garden Book at the hardware store.I know that Home Depot and also Lowe's has one in the Garden dept. It's for customers to look things up in. I know that stuff like ,Diatetamatious Earth, Baby Powder,Baking powder will kill them. It gets into their scales and they can't breath. But how do you put it on them? I hope i've helped you, maybe even a little.I hope you have a wonderful life in your new house.

One thing for sure, if you have mice droppings and roaches in your stuff and your bringing it into a new home, we'll be seeing you on here again asking how to get rid of mice and then how to get rid of roaches.

Don't forget, roaches lay eggs that can hibernate for years under good conditions. Mice droppings is what caused that fever in the Southwest that was killing the Indians on the Navajo reservation. Is the stuff you have is storage worth it? and you'd better wash it good.

take pictures of all damaged items for evidence and throw out. replacing the items should be covered by their insurance , replacing the health of you and your baby should not be left to chance.

don't risk the baby. if it can be washed with soap and bleach OK, else trash it. your health and the baby's is more important.
