The solvent for cyanoacrylic glue (superglue) is acetone.

Some nail polishes don't have acetone in them... use the kind which does if you don't have pure acetone available.

You may need to get a large bore syringe or glue injector to squirt the acetone into the lock cylinder handle, or find a way to drip a lot of the acetone into the mechanism, wiggling the handle as it dissolves and gets free. It may take a half hour's work or so.

Make sure you put a drop cloth or newspaper underneath the door and handle because the acetone will ruin varnish and paint and possibly ruin your carpeting too.

Superglue is not strong with twisting or flexing, or in high heat so it may be possible to break the glue joint by physical means.

Good luck!

I would take the time to remove the two screws and take out the lock, then you can pour the acetone into the lock somewhere safe.

You can find acetone in the paint department of most hardware stores...Good luck and keep the glue away from the kid.

corect me please if i am wrong but i do belive that the main ingreadent in super glue is acitone, and that mixing acitone with acitone dosent work imidiatly but takes a few minuts to re-salidify it. then there is a few second window of opertunity that develops which it can be removed, thusly you are far better off with a new one.

Hello

I am afraid that there is nothing on the market that will help you with this problem other then buying another lock.
