We just had our flat roof redone on our house in FL. When it is wet, water is "pooling" a little over where some of the black roof mastic seals the seams on one area. I thought water should run off the roof in streams and not pool. Should I be concerned at all?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Different colors in a hydrant mean different operating PSIs on the hydrant, right? What would a green hydrant with orange caps and a bonnet mean?

A great example of exterior mold, mildew and fungus growing out of control is in the City of Fort Lauderdale Florida. South Florida has some of the worse mold, mildew and fungus conditions in the entire country due to its climate; I would classify this area as an eight on a scale of one to ten and ten being worse.
Homes and buildings our literally covered from the sidewalks to there roof with these unsightly reoccurring funguses. Yearly maintenance is normally required to keep these structures clean. I would like to have you reply with your comments and a scale from 1-10 of your city.

One of the the Oven heating elements is non-operational at all. My apartment has no hookup for gas what to buy as a replacement? My apartement wiring cannot handle 75 watt lightbulbs. I live in apartments and water started coming through my celing. We cut off the main water and contacted our land lord. We went in the apartment above us and it looked as if the sewer was backing up in the toliet. We plunged it but that did nothing. We turned the water back on and the toliet started filling up again. It was also coming up from the bath tub. My question is....Why would turning the water off keep the sewer from backing up into the toliet? The people upstairs is not home and hasn't been for a week, so I don't think their toliet could be stopped up. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have 20 acres of land behind my house I can use for gardening and small livestock, such as chickens and rabbits. I am a welder by trade and I want to build a 3 point hitch for a 12 HP lawn mower to plow a large garden. I can do the fabracation but I would like to buy the plows and the disc and build the racks for them.
Does any one know where I could buy them and what size I should get?
The mower has 18" x 9.5" on 8" rims. I have enough room to put tires on it up to 24" X whatever, and I can cut the hub off the ones I have now and fab up hubs to fit the axles. Any ideas on where to get the tractor lugged type tires at a good price.
I am disabled and the check is very big so I need the cheapest things I can find that will work.
Hope some one out there can lead me in the rigth direction.
Thanks for the help.

well, sum1 was driving drunk on my block just now...and hit a and broke a hydrant, which lead to the opening of the main supply line to burst open, causeing 10 feet of water in the air and completly flooding my basement with 3 feet of water. This has obviously damaged my house(roten foundation, floor) and personall belongings(books, jewlery) and we're left with no water hot or cold and no bathrooms to use. What should i do in this case in order for my insurance to recompisate my losses? and what do i tell them to cover me for? can i say that it messed up my plumbing system by puutting sand in my pipes(which it did)?

I got a florecent light like the kind in the ceiling at stores the 36" long bulbs. Well one burned out so of course the other didn't work fully. I got a new one ( same part number and size) and they both work but only slightly. It's like they won't turn on all the way they stay dim. It's not cold so that wouldn't affect the gas in the bulbs and I also cleaned the connections with rubbing alcohol. Anyone know what could be wrong?

We live in northern Colorado and our winters are usually pretty mild. Lately, however, we have been getting a lot of snow and are considering purchasing a snow blower (we're having another storm as I type this). Are snow blowers worth the investment and how much money can we expect to spend on a decent model? Can you recommend specific models? Thanks!

We're having ant trouble. The man we're renting from built this house himself. Right now we're having a huge ant problem and money is tight. I was wondering if the landlord is responsible for having our house fumigated since any other problem we've had so far he's dealt with personally.
