Go for it. The best jobs in the future will be in the service sector. Manufacturing is pretty much gone and too many nerds don't like getting their hands dirty.

Great future. The average age of an HVAC technician is rising, and the future is good for people willing to engage in the service sector. In addition, it's also an easy field to open your own company in after a few years of experience.

Especially in Florida. Almost all service trucks have help wanted signs on the back. The world dosen't need any more computer techs. The service business is the way to go. The old tech's. are retiring and there not being replaced. Go to trade school first. Get a good electrical backround. A tech. for 35 years and I'm out of here!

Go and locate a school that specializes in Heating/Cooling. Take the classes and get your degree/certificate. Good HVAC companies will only hire those with the education/training. You can make an above avearage living in that field.
