On the stovetop range one heating element blewup and a piece of it went skidding across the linolium floor the other heating elements are functioning at best only about 25-30 percent of capability. One of the the Oven heating elements is non-operational at all. My apartment has no hookup for gas what to buy as a replacement? My apartement wiring cannot handle 75 watt lightbulbs. Would move but cannot afford to right now.

how old is your stove?
elements can be replaced you know.
if you rent make the landlord replace it. if you can't use a gas stove and can't afford a new one consider getting a toaster oven and a single burner unit.

check the yellow pages for a used appliance store. you could probably find a good, rebuilt/repaired stove for $100.00. it would cost you that much to fix all that is wrong with the one that you have. btw, this is the landlords problem if the apt. came with a stove. i have a 2nd hand stove for 12 years now, it had 2 little chips on the top, i paid $125.00 for. when you buy, go for a whirlpool/kenmore stove, i find the parts to be more affordable. good luck and have a happy new year!

Check Sears. Kenmore makes pretty good appliances. Even the low end stuff is reliable. You could always check the classifieds for some good used stuff as well.

If the appliances came with the apartment, check with the landlord to see if he/she can have it repaired.
