It needs to be primed after it runs out. There should be instructions on how to do this (usually you hold down a button while the pump runs for about a minute) but if there are none call a furnace man. It isn't hard to do but if you have never done it before it can be intimidating.

You need to bleed the line good. Get some cleer hose that will fit over the bleeder fitting, (it is a little fitting that is more than likely 1/4" to 3/8" hex nut with a little ball with a hole at the top of it).
Put the hose on it and loosen the fitting buy turning it counter clockwise. Put the other end of the hose in an old gallon milk jug or something as such. Push the reset button. It may take several times before you get a good strong flow of fuel from it. As soon as the pump stops each time turn the fitting back until it is tight. If you don't do this it will suck air back into the line. Wait a few minutes and do it again.
After several times it should stay lit.
If you use a clean jug or bottle, just take it out and pour it back into the fuel tank.

One reason is as already mentioned system needs bleeding.and change fuel filter. Another reason is the photo cell as stopped working. It see's the flame and responds to the light if it doesn't see it it shuts the boiler down for safety If you can start the boiler by pressing the reset button It runs for a short time then stops that could be the photo cell. It could also be the control box which the photo cell is connected to
