You will need a few tools like a pipe wrench or a valve stem remover tool that you can get at any of the hardware stores like Home Depot, a screw driver and a phillips head. Pop the center caps out of the handles using the flat head on both hot and cold handles to get to the phillips screw that holds the actual handles in place. Next, use the wrench or stem tool to unscrew the valve stems out. Now remove the stem and inspect the bottom of it where the little black washer is held on my a flat head screw. Remove it and replace it with a match. You need to take this to the store or buy a variety pack in advance but if you tell the store helper what model you have and they can tell you what will work. Once they are replaced just go back in reverse and put everything back together and you are back in business once you turn the water back on. I hope it goes smoothly and good luck!

***LOL good catch! TURN OFF THE WATER BEFORE YOU DO ANY OF THE ABOVE. I made the assumption you would know better than to do this with the water on, my bad***

Shut the water off. Follow the pipe, there should be a water faucet shut off for both the hot and cold, shut them both off. Then there will be a nut at the bottom of the valve stem, unscrew this one, it will come off and release the stem, unscrew the stem. At the base you will find a washer, rubber, held in by one screw, Phillips head, take this out and replace it. If anything, turn it upside down it will work this way too, not replace everything.
