On 1/2 of a room that was paneled we have wallpaper with lining under it and on the bottom the paneling is still showing through but we painted it. I like the look of beadboard and am wondering if we can install it over the bottom 1/2 on top of the paneling and how would it look? Am wondering if anyone has already done this and how did it look for you?

I'm thinking about installing a ceiling fan, but our ceilings have popcorn on them. Does that type of disturbance release enough asbestos to be concerned about?

I want to update my kitchen, however I am unsure of what paint to use etc. Do you have to sand first, or will just applying primer do the job?
I have honey oak cupboards and I want to paint them a winter white or light beige. Does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of paint I would need for this?

What type of laminate flooring is it that you can just score it with a razor and pop it into two peices as opposed to having to cut the flooring with a saw?

i'm single, 20 and 27 weeks pregnant so painting and wallpapering are off my list of can do's at the moment. my bedroom is pale baby blue...dnt get me wrong its a lovely colour if its not EVERYWHERE. before he left, my ex thought it'd be really cool to paint the ceiling the same colour so i hav blue carpets (soon being changed to cream), blue walls and blue ceilings with light oak furniture. please help me, i don't think i can stand much more blue!! lol i've been told my dad will paint it, but he doesn't live in the same country so i dont kno when that will be, but i just so badly want the...atmosphere of the room changed to somethings more mature, welcoming (in a friendly way..tut...get ur mind out the gutter), relaxing, but also something taht i dnt hav 2 worry abt little 'un touching things!

It's stuck. I've soaked it and sprayed with water and vinegar and scraped with a putty knife. Any other suggestions? How much is a steamer? Do they rent them?

I've been commissioned to do an indoor wall mural, and I've never painted one before. The mural is for a little girl's room, and the parents want me to paint: unicorns, a castle, ferries, etc. I'm going with a flat animated cartoon kind of look for everything, but I don't know what kind of paint to use nor do I know the best methods to paint it with.

I would appreciate any information you could give. Thanks!

I once bought this item at wal-mart in the laundry section. But now, I can't find them anywhere. They are made of heavy plastic (like a clothes hanger) and have a row of 5-7 hooks. If anyone has any idea where I can purchase these, PLEASE let me know. I am building a house and am on a mission to find this item. Thanks

We bought a house that has a living room with a two-story high ceiling. Halfway up the walls (where a regular ceiling might be) there is a cornice (I guess that is what it is called -- it is an architectural detail that extends about an inch out from the wall and is about three inches high. There are actually two of them, side-by-side, extending around the room, with a three-inch flat part between the two).

I have no idea how to paint this room. Should I paint the whole wall (including the cornice) one color? Should I paint a different color above the cornice and on the ceilings? Should I paint the walls the same color, but paint the cornice a different color? I know the colors I like (sage greens, tans, browns, etc) -- and then I planned to paint the ceiling a beige color. However, the walls and this cornice thing have me stumped.

I am looking for 40 of these lanterns that I found on e-bay. They are ivory and glass and about 10 inches high. I want to use them for my centerpieces at my wedding but the shipping prices are outrageous. Does anyone know of any stores that would carry these?
