It's stuck. I've soaked it and sprayed with water and vinegar and scraped with a putty knife. Any other suggestions? How much is a steamer? Do they rent them?

You can rent a steamer for about 40-50 dollars and buy one for about 100-140. Removal of wallpaper is hell. My husband and I bought a house and the wallpaper we took down came down in 1-2 inch slivers. It was horrible! We now tried removing more and used a steamer and it was much better. Still a pain in the butt but it came down in larger pieces with less elbow greece.

Home Depot and Lowes rent steamers but I don't know the price. I found spraying sections of the wallpaper with a heavy mixture of Dawn dishwashing detegent & water, letting it set about five or 10 minutes and it peeled off very easily.

I did not need to scrap anything. Any spot that stuck just got an extra spray of the Dawn solution.

Good luck!

I just took wallpaper off of a dining room wall that had been there for 14 years. I used HOT water and white vinegar. Soak it about 3 minutes and patiently try to remove the whole piece. If you have scored it - it will come off in shreds. If you havent scored it. DONT!

if you dont want to rent the steamer, try mixing hot water with a cup of fabric softener. spray the paper and let it sit for five minutes or so.
