This room has 2 focal points I "love" a tv armoir that very large and a homemade gas firplace and mantel on opposite walls. I want to make this room cozy, homey and have traffic where it can flow but the room is very welcoming. Can you help me with some ideas?

It sounds like it's large enough to have group seating. Face sofas or armchairs across from one another in front of the armoir. This will allow a coziness and easy entertaining to talk to people. Its hard to tell you without seeing the space. Your welcome to email me on the side also I'll try to help.

This room is large enough to have 2 or 3 seating areas, or focal areas. Create a seating arrangement around the tv armoire for family viewing and a comfy seating arrangement around the gas fireplace for conversation and reading. And somewhere between the two, perhaps a small table and two chairs, a nice area for playing games or eating a snack.

First, save your back a little. Get some graph paper, and mark out the dimensions of the room. Measure all the furniture, then make cutouts (on graph paper) to represent each piece. This will let you arrange pieces on paper before moving them in real life.

Secondly, that's a pretty big room. You might consider dividing it into 2-3 separate areas to give it a cozier feel.

set up two small sitting areas with those two favorites as focal points, don't use big bulky furniture, try to use small pieces like love chairs or a chase, choose the one where people will sit on the most and use the bigger pieces there, anchor both areas with rugs. and don't forget the accessories! use dim lighting to create a homey feeling, small lamps and candles always feel cozy.
watch HGTV channel, they give alot of good ideas.
Good Luck!
