sure i lived by myself for a little while but mistly i lived with a guy and someone pretty much always took care of getting everything for me. so i have no clue what i need to get from small things to large things for me and my 5 month olds new apartment

I am a girl.
I am 15.
I love my horses, playing soccer, basketball, and swim team.
My favorite color is green and I really like how it looks with black and white stuff.

My room is about the size of a two car garage so there are many possibilities I just don't know where to start!! Please help me!!! And if you want me to vote for you for best answer, please include sites where i can find awesome stuff!!

Cannot remove it because of large mirror runs along top of square backsplash. Tiling, re-laminate... ??

I watched an episode of the Simple Life a while back, and they were with a Pakistani family. They showed a little of the master bedroom, and I REALLY loved the decor. There was different colored fabric covering half of the bedroom (kind of like a canopy). Does any one know where I might be able to find a picture of somthing similar?

I know this is dumb but I just want to do it right...and there is also a border on the wall right now. Should I remove that first, or paint over the old border, or put the new border over the old border? lol... this is silly but I was just curious on what everyone thought. My kids keep walking through my screen door ! I use to know where to get butterflies that you add to the screen , so that they would know there was a screen there ! But now were can I find them ? Or what should I do ?

Ok, well me and my hubby want to buy a house, we have a contract on it, but in order for it to go through, it must have closets. We want real closets, but the seller won't install them...he instead offered to install a 72" by 48" by 20" prefabricated closet. Me and my husband have no clue what these are...I tried searching and had no luck. Are they good things to have in your home? Would that be a good size? Or should we try to negotiate and get real ones...?Thanks for your help!!!

I have recently had my interior walls re-skimmed so they are nice and smooth. I did one coat of a light coloured matt paint. However the areas where the sunlight hits the wall you can see slight patches. I'm using a roller to apply the paint... any GOOD tips on how to get a nice even finish? Again good answers please!

my house is covered in textured wallpaper. what the best way to level it for painting without stripping. its been put on the plasterboard directly so stripping is not an option.

We also wonder if there should be some sort of moisture barrier sheet under the luan than the installers are putting down. Our old wood floor is 3 feet up from the ground and we can't get under there to insulate without digging and big bucks. On a sunny day, you can see the ground through the cracks. I worry about the stove leaking gas if we have to take it out. Is it dangerous to do it yourself?

Our living room is very, very noisy due to outside car traffic. At the moment we only have a 3mm thick glass (single glaze) in the window and it lets in all the noise. I am looking at paying a small king's ransom to have double glazing with 16.8mm acoustic glass from Pilkingtons put in. Because of the shape of the window alcove secondary glazing is not an option. Does anyone know if it will work?
