My mother and step father just purchased a house in Appleton, WI. They have many questions about the original layout and materials used to build their house. They want to know what lies under all the paint and plaster. I would like to find out information or blueprints on the house for them so they can decide if they want to go ahead and change some of the interior architectures to either reflect the past history of the home, or make modern-day changes. If you have any information where I can find blueprints for their house please respond. Thank you.

I paid over US$2000 for a set of one glass vase, 5 glasses and 1 mirror tray, in a violet color that changes to blue under certain light. It has gold trim & elaborate floral designs, and the artist signed on it and came with a "Certificato di Garanzia" card. It's a company called CAM Vetri D'arte srl. Seemed pretty ligit. But saw other glasses in small store go for much less. Just wondering if I got ripped off?

I am priming my bathroom wall (over old paint), and I've tried a couple different rollers but they still shed. I've heard of home remedies to prevent this but don't know what they are. Can anyone help?

Some company makes a vertical blind that operates by hand ( no cords or wands), so they're either open or closed all the time.Do you know where to find them?

Our son is a recent graduate and as a young professional he wants his apartment to look nice. The kitchen wall is good sized and empty. How do you decorate without it looking like a girls touch.

I'm wondering about the look from the street. I know that white or beige window treatments look nice but I would really like to use bamboo type shades. But if they look bad from the front of my house I don't think I want to have them. Anyone have them?

We are using it as a 3rd bedroom but not selling it as one, it was done 6 years ago with no building regs and the buyer is happy with this. However solicitors are asking for any paperwork etc which we obviously don't have. Does anyone have experience with this as my husband and i are worried we'll have to have it taken down or redone properly. We are definately not selling it as a bedroom so didn't think there would be any problems. Please help !

I have a tile shower that is looking rather shabby. I've been considering ripping the tile out and re-doing it, but I was given the suggestion of "professionally refinishing" the tile. Has anyone ever done this? What is involved? I'm okay with the tile, but I'd like it to look nicer than it does with out spending a ton of money.
